Answers to common questions.

Full address:

Ruskin Lodge, 6 Lamont Lodges,
Rashfield, PA23 8QT

Satnav coordinates:

Latitude  56.014966
Longitude  -4.975087

As the lodge's postcode covers a large area it is essential that you follow the directions below rather than rely on your satnav. You may also find that you lose mobile phone coverage so make sure you know where you are going before you leave!

DIRECTIONS FROM GLASGOW, VIA FERRY (around 1.5 hours including ferry)

Follow the M8 to Gourock then follow signs for the Hunter’s Quay car ferry from McInroy’s Point (not the passenger ferry from Gourock). After the 20 minute ferry journey, exit the ferry car park, turn right and follow signs for the A815 to Strachur. You will pass the Cot House petrol station and signs for Blairmore and Strone.  Keep a look out for a Forestry Commission sign for Pucks Glen. Just after the sign for Pucks Glen you will see a small sign on your right for Lamont Lodges. At night there is a light at the entrance but it can be tricky to spot. If you see a sign for Uig Hall or reach Benmore Gardens, you’ve gone too far!

For the ferry timetable and service updates visit the Western Ferries website.

Ferry tickets can be bought onboard, but to buy them (much) cheaper get them in advance – either online or at the local shops listed on the Western Ferries website:

Follow the A82 up Loch Lomond to Tarbat, then take the A83 until you see signs for the A815 just before Cairndow. Follow the A815 through Strachur and inland past Loch Eck. You will see Benmore Botanical Gardens on your right, a sign for Uig Hall on your right and the Lamont Lodges are shortly after on your left.

Turn left after you pass the entrance – Ruskin Lodge is the last log cabin on your left. Please park in the parking bays and do not drive or park on the grass as your car may become stuck and it damages the grounds. You can park at the rear of the cabin – please leave a space beside your car to allow our neighbours to turn.
